Marakesh

The Kiev-based "Marakesh" group achieved national fame with their breakthrough second album "M" (2008), in which the cherished themes of the group "sex, glam, rock, pop and electronics... And love too" were voiced.

Their theatrical streak and obvious attachment to ink, especially in the appearance of lead singer Mark, are working to visually express what Marakesh calls "androgynous rock." It is both musically unconscious and emotionally overwhelmed. It's also a description of the band's eclectic sound.

It is unprecedented that all the "Marakesh" group songs from the "M" album were used in the soundtracks for several television series on Channel One in Russia, and one of them, called "Jdat", even appeared in the GTA 4 blockbuster, which led to hundreds of thousands of views from all over the world on YouTube Channel.

Despite its existence on the periphery, the group nevertheless already had a taste of fiscal nasty. When asked why the LP was released as a free download, they reply, “Even while we were recording it, several record companies came up to us and said they wanted to release it. We took the bait, guided by our ambitions, and chose, as a result, we are faced with a long and painful struggle for freedom... "

2010 saw the liberated Marrakesh release a new EP, Taste Me, which led them to perform with the likes of London's Placebo and Mumiy Troll from Vladivostok, and stadium groups and Marrakesh inspirers.

Marakesh members worked on their third album, which was released in 2012.
